About Until Forever, Inc. — In My Own Words
I started Until Forever in loving memory of my son, Tim Schmidt Jr., who was taken from us at just 19 years old in a mass shooting on Halloween night 2024 in Orlando, Florida. He was a UCF student, my best friend, and the greatest thing I’ve ever done in my life. Tim Jr. had a quiet way of showing up for others — welcoming new kids so they never felt alone, standing up for classmates, protecting friends who felt unsafe, and even taking a job he didn’t need just to help a friend earn a referral bonus. Helping people wasn’t something he talked about — it’s simply who he was.
I started this organization because that’s what he would have done. And I refuse to let his spirit die with him.
What We Do
Until Forever supports families affected by senseless violence through financial assistance, grief resources, advocacy, and remembrance programs. We pay for funerals, we get families into therapy, and we do whatever else we can to help — because that’s the way my son was.
Our flagship program is the Healing Hearts Initiative, which provides qualifying families with financial relief, access to counseling resources, and digital memorials to keep their loved one’s memory alive. No family should have to navigate the financial weight of tragedy on top of the emotional devastation of losing someone they love.
Growing Our Reach
Until Forever is now part of the Benevity Causes Portal, a leading platform that connects companies and employees with trusted charities around the world — opening the door for thousands of corporate employees and donors to contribute through workplace giving, volunteer programs, and corporate matching initiatives. We’re building something that lasts — because Tim Jr. deserves nothing less.
Why This Matters
Our public charity raises money to assist victims’ families of senseless crimes. Gun violence doesn’t just take a life — it shatters entire families, and far too often those families are left to pick up the pieces alone, financially overwhelmed and emotionally broken, with nowhere to turn.
Until Forever exists to change that.
Every act of kindness we extend carries a piece of Tim Jr. forward. This is his legacy. This is Until Forever.
